Exhibition On Screen and FOFPAC present this intriguing art film that goes behind the scenes of the world-renowned Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague and spotlight’s Vermeer’s famous painting The Girl with A Pearl Earring. Johannes Vermeer is one of the great Dutch masters and this painting from c. 1665 is one of the most enduring paintings in the history of art. The film seeks to answer the questions that have haunted art lovers for decades: who was she? Why is it so popular? Why and how was it painted? Many of the clues that the film finds lie in other masterpieces housed in the collection. Acclaimed British actor Hugh Bonneville narrates this film, produced by Phil Grabsky and Seventh Art Productions and directed by David Bickerstaff.
