DESCRIPTION:Exhibition On Screen presents another stunning art documentary film! \nJohn Singer Sargent is known as the greatest portrait artist of his era. What made his ‘swagger’ portraits remarkable was his power over his sitters\, what they wore and how they were presented to the audience. Through interviews with curators\, contemporary fashionistas and style influencers\, Exhibition on Screen’s film will examine how Sargent’s unique practice has influenced modern art\, culture and fashion. \nFilmed at the Museum of Fine Arts\, Boston and the Tate Britain\, London\, the exhibition reveals Sargent’s power to express distinctive personalities\, power dynamics and gender identities during this fascinating period of cultural reinvention. Alongside 50 paintings by Sargent sit stunning items of clothing and accessories worn by his subjects\, drawing the audience into the artist’s studio. \nThe perfect film to see after the fashionable red carpet of the MET Gala in NYC. SUMMARY:Call for Entry: Pursuit of Happiness
DESCRIPTION:(Ages 18+)  Artists in all mediums are invited to enter artwork that explores\, depicts or celebrates the theme of Pursuit of Happiness.  There is joy and happiness in creating your work and as inspiration for the pieces you create. Show us what this pursuit means to you and how it brings you happiness or how you see happiness in others who are pursuing their passions. A pathway through the woods\, bags packed for vacation\, fisherman on the docks\, a bee searching a flower – we are interested in the search\, the pursuit.  Online entry form is preferred; payment can be made when dropping off artwork by cash\, credit card or check (payable to County of Loudoun).
