Great Country Farms

Great Country Farms is a 200 acre working farm situated at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside the village of Bluemont, VA. Great Country Farms offers produce as well as the farm experience to its customers. The farm itself is the main attraction with sprawling fields farm animal barnyard, open skies and plenty of old-fashioned hospitality.

The Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship is a place where farming, nature, and history converge to show the connections between people and the natural world. 894 acres are home to deep woods and streams, a working farm, wildflower meadows, historic farmsteads, apiaries, wildlife and farm animals. Visitors can hike trails, pick flowers, buy fresh produce and attend workshop. Open daily dawn to dusk. Free


Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park

W & OD Trail

The 100-foot wide Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park (W&OD) is one of the skinniest parks in the commonwealth of Virginia, but also one of the longest — 45 miles in length. The W&OD takes its name from the railroad whose trains ran along the right-of-way from 1859 until 1968. The first (or last) stop on the trail is located in Downtown Purcellville.
