We did it! The center is finally open after ten years of effort- thanks to the generosity and support of so many in our community.

What an opening it was! I am so grateful to the hundreds of friends who came out on February 2nd to celebrate with us. So many memorable moments come to mind when I think back on the opening. My favorite was watching the first standing ovation at the Arts Center- in a fitting tribute, it was presented to a stage full of community leaders and volunteers who made the Arts Center a reality. One of many magical moments during the day.

Soon after our opening the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors approved our fee schedule and on February 19th we began taking bookings from the arts community. To learn more about booking the art center, click here. I have been gratified by the response. In early May we will proudly announce our first full season.

But we'll be busy before our first full season is announced! In March we will host the first of many VSA Arts Virginia- Loudoun County productions. This original musical is entitled. The Old Homeplace, A Loudoun Valley Tale ; with over 50 performers and memorable music you won't want to miss it! Reserve your seats today by calling our box office.

On March 22nd , the Arts Center will help celebrate the release of Andrew McKnight's 5th CD, Something worth Standing For. Join us at 8pm as Andrew presents his newest CD live in concert at the Arts Center. Reserve your seats today by calling our box office today.

As you can see, the Arts Center is beginning to roll. Now is your chance to get involved...see a show, become a volunteer, become a member of the Friends of Franklin Park Arts Center. Please feel free to stop by anytime for a visit. We are always eager to show you your Arts Center and to hear your ideas on what you would like to see in it. Thanks for your enthusiasm.

February 2, 2008 is a day to celebrate but also a time to mark the end of a long journey and to begin an exciting new one to help the Arts Center fulfill its promise of becoming a true home for the arts in Loudoun County. We will need your passion and energy for this journey as well and hope you will once again join together with the Arts Center as we all work to make the arts a vital part of the fabric of Loudoun County life.

See you at your Arts Center!
