Women with Vision Multimedia Exhibit

View Online

Minds Wide OpenThe Franklin Park Arts center presents its original Women with Vision exhibition, now online. The exhibit explores the creativity of seven female Loudoun artists and their collective impact on our community.

The exhibit highlights three generations of women within our community whose creative talent, in the opinion of the Arts Center, continues to shape the arts in Loudoun; the exhibit supported the Minds Wide Open statewide celebration of women in the arts. The show originally ran in the center from May 28 – June 14, 2010.

An interactive exhibit experiment ran in the lobby gallery from Thursday, 16 September 2010 through October 10 2010, with the introduction:

“Is a picture worth a thousand words, or can a thousand words create a picture? Maybe both. Let’s find out. This unique, interactive exhibit asks you to write a couple of words about one or more of the art pieces on display. Feeling brave? Share more than a single word with us- share a thought or a story that the artwork brings to mind. Those words will be turned into their own ‘word cloud’ artwork throughout the show and final versions will be rendered at the show’s conclusion. Share your words in person or online on Flickr.”
