Franklin Park Arts Center offers a variety of arts education programs for all ages which provide a way for the community to get involved in the process of creating visual art, theatre and dance and much more. The Arts Center operates with the Parks Division of Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services, and are listed in the Activity Guide which is also mailed to residents of Loudoun County.

SPRING BREAK DRAMA CAMP
(Ages 6-12) This will be a fast week of theater fun! Students play theater games, make costumes and set pieces, and present a performance to invited guests at the end of the week. Bring a bag lunch. Reading skills are required. Instructor: Heather Stillings.

GROWING STAGE SUMMER CAMP: Alice in Wonderland, Jr.

Experience the thrill and creativity of a theatre setting by participating in acting, dancing, singing, and set construction. Campers will perform in front of a live audience. This fast-paced adaptation of Alice in Wonderland features updated dialogue and new arrangements of such Disney songs as "I'm Late," "The Un-birthday Song" and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da. A Growing Stage Production. The Growing Stage Theatre, Inc. is a non-profit theatre group that has been producing musical theatre camps and workshops in Loudoun County, Virginia since its inception in 1994.
SPOTLIGHT STUDIO SUMMER CAMP: Guys and Dolls or Godspell (depending on availability)
Rising 7th through 11th graders; July 11 through July 22 M-F 9A-4P (7PM performance on July 21)

The Spotlight Studio for Musical Theatre is a private instruction studio for voice and acting. Spotlight Studio Productions is the theatrical performing arm of the Studio. Productions for middle and high school aged youth are currently offered in the summer, and cast by audition in mid-April.
**For rising 7th - rising 11th grades, this is a 2-week summer stock intensive. A maximum of 24 youth will be selected by audition for this fee-based camp. Scholarship assistance available based on need. The camp is designed to enhance theatrical performing skill in the disciplines of singing, acting, dance, and ensemble cohesion. Led by professional actor/director Dolly Stevens, the camp will seek to further develop the talent of participants, while building community, ensemble, and creating an unforgettable performance memory.

Set in the USA, Back to the 80's tells the story of the senior class of William Ocean High School that graduated in the 1980's. The Growing Stage Theatre, Inc. is a non-profit theatre group that has been producing musical theatre camps and workshops in Loudoun County, Virginia since its inception in 1994.
JR. THEATRE TOURING SHOW
A Franklin Park Arts Center Camp at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve
(Ages 6-14) Join Heather Stillings in a production of "The Reinvention of Rumplestiltskin," which will be performed at sites around the county, including Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve and Franklin Park. Locations for touring rehearsals/ performances: Week 1&2- Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve, Week 3- TBA. Reading skills required. Bring bag lunch. Transportation waver must be signed. No class on July 4th. $5 Supply free paid to instructor.

PRODUCTION CAMP: MELODRAMA
A Franklin Park Arts Center Camp at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve
(Ages 14-18) Explore the world of villains, heroes and heroines in the production of an original melodrama: "A Cultured Formula or The Udder Demise of Beth Braveheart's Dairy Bar and Cheese Cafe". Students will study stylized movement and characterization, audience interaction, and technical theatre, leading to a fully staged production with multiple performances. Bring bag lunch. Camp and performances take place at Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve. Evening performances Aug 4, 5 and 6. $5 supply fee paid to instructor.

WILD ABOUT WATERCOLOR!
A Franklin Park Arts Center Camp at the Arts Center
(Ages 8-12) Camp will cover a wide variety of watercolor techniques, and incorporate some calligraphy, pen & ink and collage. Outer space, the deep sea and fields of flowers are just some of the themes we'll be exploring. Experience the joy of making art with others for others as we work as a team to create a special, collaborative gift of art for a local nursing home. A supply fee of $35 (paid to the instructor) is due at the first class. Instructor: Catherine Fetterman
